The Sweet Spot Meditation

For those of us that are wiggly and fidgety by nature, sitting still to meditate can be pretty challenging. Not wanting to do a walking meditation, but still wanting to let the body lead? Thankfully, there’s a meditation for that.

The focus in this kind of meditation is twofold: first visualizing a thread from the bottom of the tailbone up out the top of your head to the heavens. Next finding the postural sweet spot where you feel centered and light and letting your body follow the sweet spot. That’s it!

This one’s just 7 minutes.

Violet Flame Meditation- 8 minutes

The violet flame is an energetic tool I use often in meditation. It’s a transformative energy embodying the qualities of grace, unconditional love, forgiveness, freedom, transmutation, and spiritual uplifting to the higher states of consciousness.

If you’ve ever heard or said, “I’m just going to offer it up” or “I’m releasing this problem to God,” the violet flame is a tangible representation of that concept and much more.

This 8 minute meditation is an introduction to using the violet flame. It should feel comforting, soothing, and uplifting. Like coming home to yourself. The meditation includes a bit of mindfulness, a visualization of the violet flame, and a blue flame of protection at the end. Some people like to start with the protection first before they begin a meditation. After you listen once, if you want to begin your next meditation with blue flame, that’s great. Do what works for you.

If you want to google “violet flame,” get ready for some top level far-out shit.  This post is one of the milder introductions to a more in-depth look at what it’s all about. I don’t really recommend clicking on first page google results if you are doing a search for the v.f. unless you are ready to dive deep into the idea of channeling, karma, and the work of the Ascended Masters.  If you’re good with all that, then have at it! You will not be disappointed.

Do you see that image right there of a person sitting with purple and pink and white light patterns all around? That’s you, whether you can feel it or not. Aren’t you beautiful? One way to start seeing yourself like that is to spend any amount of time meditating.

If you haven’t tried meditation and you think it might be boring, I recommend giving this one a try. It’s so short that it’ll be done before you even begin. If you’ve tried meditation and like it, this is a nice quickie way to reboot and get back to your day.

Reiki instantly healed my panic attack.


When thinking about what I wanted to say here about Reiki, my thoughts drifted back to the most powerful experience I had with receiving Reiki. It was in 1998 and I had just finished college, despite debilitating panic attacks and anxiety disorder. My anxiety got worse after graduating, and I was living with my mom, unable to work, and desperately in need of some healing but didn’t know where to start.

This was before the internet really had taken hold of things, so I couldn’t just google “healing for anxiety” or “help me I am a mess.” Though I avoided national newspapers and nightly news because it exacerbated my anxiety, I would occasionally look through local village newspapers to see what was happening around town.

In one of the local guides, I came across an ad for healing services offering “Reiki and Rubenfeld Synergy” which sounded like a start. Plus, I had that feeling you get, that little tickle of intuition that said, “yes.” So I called to make an appointment.

Soon, there I was, meeting with Pam Arwine, who worked out of her home.  I returned to her almost weekly for healing sessions and to this day am comforted by how safe and nurtured I felt in that space. Her work was tuning me into my body, diffusing some tensions, and giving me clues as to why I felt so out of control and what my body was telling me. And over time, it helped immensely.

On one visit, as I was getting onto the table, I had a panic attack. She encouraged me to lay down on my back and she placed her hands over my sternum. And the panic completely melted away. Just dissolved and disappeared. Reiki instantly healed my panic attack.

I had never felt anything like that. It blew my mind.

My understanding of myself, my energy, and the healing energy available to us at any given moment was changed forever.
